DESCRIPTION:Join award-winning author Eoghan Daltun for a guided walk of Esk Mountain Nature Restoration Project followed by a fireside talk about his own experiences of invasive species.  In particular Rhododendron ponticum\, Sika deer & feral goats.  He will speak about his work in removing them & restoring life to his family’s 73-acre farm near Eyeries on the Beara Peninsula\, West Cork.  Continue the conversations with Eoghan over a special two-course fireside dinner themed around ‘Eating Invasive Species’ which will include Sika Deer & a selection of responsibly removed invasive plant species on the menu. \n  \nABOUT THE SPEAKER \nEoghan Daltun is a sculpture conservator\, a High Nature Value farmer and\, above all\, a rewilder. Originally from Dublin\, since 2009 he has lived with his two sons\, Liam and Seánie\, on their 73-acre farm near Eyeries on the Beara Peninsula\, West Cork.  He is author of the best-selling and award-winning book\, An Irish Atlantic Rainforest: A Personal Journey into the Magic of Rewilding (Hachette\, September 2022)\, and The Magic of an Irish Rainforest: A Visual Journey (Hachette\, September 2024).
