SUMMARY:Workshop: Community Invasive Species Training - North Bull Island\, Dublin
DESCRIPTION:Learn to identify\, map\, and prevent invasive species on North Bull Island. Hands‑on training for community action. \n\n\n\n\nAs part of Invasive Species Week\, join us on North Bull Island for a hands‑on workshop designed to build practical skills in identifying\, mapping\, and preventing the spread of invasive species. This session is ideal for volunteers\, local community groups and anyone interested in protecting local biodiversity. Refreshments will be available throughout the day. \nWhat you’ll learn\n\nInvasive species identification — Learn how to recognise high‑risk invasive plants and animals commonly found in coastal and dune habitats.\nInvasive species mapping — Get practical experience recording sightings using simple field methods and citizen‑science tools.\nPreventing the spread: Check\, Clean\, Dry — Understand how invasive species move between sites and learn the essential steps to stop their spread.\n\nWhy this workshop matters\nNorth Bull Island is a unique and sensitive ecosystem. Invasive species threaten native wildlife\, habitats\, and the ecological balance of the area. By learning how to identify\, map\, and prevent their spread\, you’ll be contributing directly to conservation efforts on a UNESCO Biosphere site. \nWho’s involved\nThis workshop is delivered in collaboration with the National Biodiversity Data Centre\, Clean Coasts\, Dublin Bay Biosphere and Dublin City Council. \nWho should attend\nEveryone is welcome! No prior experience required. Perfect for community volunteers\, students\, outdoor enthusiasts\, and anyone who wants to take meaningful action for biodiversity. \n\n\n  \nInvasive Species Workshop Poster
