Training for the Prevention and Management of Invasive Species – Class Field Trip!

Following the 5-week Invasive Species Management Training Course we delivered in Bailieborough and Cavan town over the past 5 weeks, Flynn Furney will be hosting the final class field trip! This event is open ONLY to course participants.

This event will take place in Rossmore Forest Park, Monaghan on Sat 27th June, 11am – 1pm, followed by a free lunch! Meeting point is in the main car park and we will aim to start promptly at 11am. We will be walking some of the forest trails here to chat about the many invasive species present and previous invasive removal projects we have worked on. We will also do some ‘Balsam Bashing’ to help remove some invasive Himalyan Balsam on site!

Please dress for the weather on the day and wear sturdy footwear. We will provide equipment but please do bring some work gloves for the practical element.

Please indicate your details at link below and let us know your dietary preferences.
We need your responses by 5pm, Wed 24th June 2026, at the latest!

PLEASE complete the sign-up form by 5pm, Wed 24th June 2026. If you have any further queries on the event, or indeed on our future Invasive Species Training Course, please contact Jennifer at [email protected]

(NOTE: Another training course on Invasive Species Prevention and Management will be running in Co. Cavan in the autumn for other interested individuals/parties – we will be advertising this later in the summer. Please spread the word to those who may be interested!)
