The best surveillance tool we have right now is for members of the public and beekeepers to safely photograph and report any sightings of suspected Asian Hornets (or their suspected nests).

When gardening, look out for signs of hornet activity and take care not to disturb nests of either wasps or Asian Hornet.
Beer gardens, places where food and drink are served outdoors, market stalls are all likely places for Asian Hornet sightings.
If you are travelling to Ireland from a place with an Asian Hornet population, always check your luggage, caravan, campervan, boat before leaving to avoid accidentally introducing Asian Hornet or other invasive species to Ireland.
