Join the team behind Esk Mountain – a 270 acre nature restoration project on the Cork-Kerry border for a introduction to the project & the work on site to remove invasive species which include Rhododendron ponticum, Crocosmia x crocosmiiflora (Montbretia), Bamboo spp, Griselinia littoralis, Leycesteria formosa (Himalayan honeysuckle) & Picea sitchensis (Sitka spruce) as well as Cervus nippon (Sika deer).

  • 90min guided walk & talk on invasive species on Esk Mountain & the work to remove these species.
  • Learn how to remove alien invasive plant species such as Rhododendron ponticum.
  • Walk trails made from wood chip produced from removed Rhodoendron ponticum.
  • Selection of furniture made from Rhododendron ponticum will be on display & available for purchase with 100% of profits returned to support the nature restoration work on site.
  • Optional Add-on: Join us for wild teas & cake served fireside in our woodland kitchen.
