We are delighted to announce the publication of the 3rd edition of “Identification Guide to Ireland’s Regulated Invasive Alien Plant Species” which is now FREE to view online here: Identification Guide to Irelands Regulated Invasive Alien Plant Species
A number of legal instruments regulate invasive alien species on the island of Ireland. These species must be controlled to prevent further spread.
This guide presents a species account for each of those regulated plant species with photos, identification features, seasonal variation, regulation and impact level listing, mechanisms of reproduction, dispersal and spread – plus much more. For some species there is also a separate table for the key differences between similar or confusion species.
This new edition includes profiles for German-ivy (Delairea odorata), Paper mulberry (Broussonetia papyrifera) and Black wattle (Acacia mearnsii).
This guide is suitable for use in Ireland and Northern Ireland.
The guide will be available in hard copy to purchase on the Biodiversity Ireland shop in February: https://shop.biodiversityireland.ie
